Does the AI upscaler really run in the browser?
Yes. We use the SwinIR-M super-resolution model through WebAssembly and ONNX Runtime, with automatic tiling so even large photos can be upscaled 4×. Your images stay on your computer the entire time.
How do I blur faces in a photo automatically?
Use the Face Mosaic tool. An on-device UltraFace detector finds every face, then applies your choice of pixelate, blur, diamond, or crystal mosaic. Perfect for sharing crowd shots, kids, or strangers on social media without manual masking.

Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Every operation — background removal, upscaling, face detection, filters, cropping, export — runs locally in your browser. The only network requests are the initial downloads of the AI model weights, which are then cached for offline use.
Does it work offline?
After the first visit CropCrop works fully offline as a Progressive Web App. You can install it to your home screen or desktop for one-click access, and AI features keep working without an internet connection.
